As Assistant Director of Operations, Stephanie Amin-Giwner oversees and manages all aspects of class action administrations in a variety of matters, including securities, antitrust, consumer and employment, where she has been able to leverage her more than 10 years of experience as a class action litigator prior to joining GCG. Ms. Amin Giwner regularly consults with GCG’s clients when they are negotiating the terms of a settlement, particularly settlements that call for a complex administration.

Given her prior experience negotiating class action settlements and overseeing administrations as a client of GCG, Ms. Amin-Giwner’s contributes significantly to GCG’s handling of administrations that present novel and complex issues. For example, Ms. Amin-Giwner managed the administration of the Cobb EMS Patronage Capital Settlement, a $98 million class action settlement with a 70-year-old class. At the outset of this administration, Ms. Amin-Giwner led the team that analyzed and parsed 5 million name and address records collected and maintained over a period of 60 years through disparate systems to achieve a clean data batch of 1 million unique records, as well as developed customized database to include payment data by year for each unique record and a secure online claims portal with access to historical account information and settlement payout options personalized to each class member.

Ms. Amin-Giwner joined GCG following more than 10 years as an associate at a well-known class action firm and client of GCG. During that time, she litigated and managed a variety of cases including securities, mergers and acquisitions and wage & hour cases. Notably, Ms. Amin-Giwner was a member of the trial team on In re Vivendi Universal, S.A. Securities Litigation, one of a very small number of securities class actions tried to a jury verdict. Ms. Amin-Giwner was also part of the legal team on Hertz Corporation v. Friend which was argued before the United States Supreme Court in November 2009.
