Samuel Ostrander

Samuel Ostrander oversees the Seattle Systems Daily Operations Team that facilitates the loading of settlement data, data analysis, claim validation, reporting, programming, large email campaign preparations and complex distribution calculations for GCG’s settlement administrations. Since he joined GCG in 2008, Mr. Ostrander’s experience in both the class action settlement and technology industries allowed him to be instrumental in the management and distribution of a number of high profile and landmark cases, including the $3.4 billion administration of the Cobell v. Salazar – Indian Trust Settlement.  In addition to leading the Seattle Systems Daily Operations team, Mr. Ostrander is currently leading all systems work in the Indians case, for which he has designed and programmed all distribution scripting and created processes to facilitate complex heir distribution activities, and is also responsible for preparing or verifying all Systems generated reporting to U.S. Congress and federal agencies on the case.

Prior to his Systems role, Mr. Ostrander spent several years as a senior member of the Quality Assurance Team, where he led quality assurance activities on well over a hundred settlements, including as Quality Assurance project lead on the Indian Trust Settlement case.  During his time on the Quality Assurance Team, he was responsible for validating complex settlement distribution calculations using relational databases, fact checking and proofreading notice documents and declarations to the court, and preparing and validating statistics and ad hoc client reporting. He also reviewed the design and functionality of website data capture and internal claim processing applications, and was responsible for team training and assisting with the management of the team.
