As Assistant Vice President of Business Development, Emily Gottlieb is responsible for promoting GCG’s presence with a focus on the Chicago and Midwest markets. She nurtures and grows GCG’s current and prospective client relationships, while continuously identifying new business opportunities.
Ms. Gottlieb is a former practicing attorney at several large national and global law firms, and prior to taking on her current business development role, she managed GCG’s Midwest class action settlement administration and bankruptcy and restructuring Operations team, where she provided practical insight to the administration of over 50 cases covering the full range of GCG’s service lines. During that time she gained hands-on experience in all aspects of GCG’s administration process, including an understanding of GCG’s legal notice strategies and solutions, with a focus on cases involving asbestos claims in which GCG provided legal notice. Further, she works with GCG’s Media Team on the use of demographic profiling and analysis, strategic media planning, and campaign management in order to assist GCG clients in effectively reaching their target audiences.
Ms. Gottlieb draws upon her extensive operational and legal experience to provide highly customized and practical solutions to clients throughout the administration process – starting as early as client retention. She is readily available to assist clients with the design and implementation of class action administration and bankruptcy programs, and can recommend cost-effective and novel approaches to each project.
Prior to joining GCG in 2007, Ms. Gottlieb practiced law at DLA Piper in the Financial Restructuring and Bankruptcy Group where she represented debtors, creditors and their committees in chapter 11 cases. Before joining DLA Piper, she practiced in the Corporate Restructuring and Real Estate groups of Drinker Biddle & Reath (fka Gardner Carton & Douglas). Ms. Gottlieb is also an active author of GCG’s CLE programs, and has presented at law firms across the country.
