Melissa Melsher joined GCG’s Business Reorganization Division in 2009 as a Consultant.
Prior to joining GCG, Ms. Melsher was an associate in the Bankruptcy and Creditors Rights Department of Ungaretti & Harris LLP in Chicago, where she represented debtors and creditors in a variety of Chapter 11 cases. Prior to that, Ms. Melsher was an associate in the Corporate Restructuring Group of Drinker Biddle Gardner Carton (formerly Gardner, Carton & Douglas LLP) where she represented creditors, including indenture trustees as members of unsecured creditors’ committees in large Chapter 11 cases.
Ms. Melsher is admitted to practice in both New York and Illinois and is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC). Ms. Melsher received her law degree, with honors, from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and received her B.A. from the American University.
